The Rita Catfish (*Rita rita*) is a large, robust freshwater species native to the major river systems of the Indian subcontinent. It is characterized by its smooth, scaleless body, prominent dorsal and pectoral fin spines, and a generally brownish-grey coloration. This predatory species can grow to a considerable size and requires a spacious aquarium.
