The Ohrid Spirlin is a small, silvery cyprinid fish endemic to Lake Ohrid and its surrounding waters in the Balkan Peninsula. This schooling species has a slender body and feeds primarily on zooplankton and benthic invertebrates. It requires specific cool, alkaline water conditions, making it less common in the general aquarium hobby.
