Description
The Longnose Lancetfish (*Alepisaurus ferox*) is a large, predatory deep-sea fish characterized by its elongated body, large mouth filled with sharp teeth, and a prominent, sail-like dorsal fin. It inhabits the mesopelagic and bathypelagic zones of all tropical and temperate oceans, preying on other fish, cephalopods, and crustaceans. This species is not suitable for home aquariums due to its size, specialized deep-sea habitat requirements, and predatory nature.
