Description
The Butterfly Splitfin is a critically endangered livebearing freshwater fish endemic to the Ameca River basin in Mexico. Males are distinguished by their unique split anal fin, while both sexes display a silvery body with iridescent scales and dark spotting. They are best kept in species-only tanks or with robust tankmates due to their assertive nature.
