Description
Gars are ancient, predatory ray-finned fish known for their elongated bodies, long snouts filled with sharp teeth, and armored ganoid scales. They are ambush predators that require very large aquariums and a specialized diet of live or frozen feeder fish. Due to their significant adult size and predatory nature, gars are best suited for experienced aquarists with species-specific setups.
