The Empire Gudgeon is a small, colorful freshwater fish, with males displaying particularly vibrant red and black fins during breeding. They are generally peaceful and make an excellent addition to a community aquarium. While tolerant of a range of water conditions, they thrive in well-planted tanks with plenty of hiding spots.
