Description
The Alabama Shiner is a small, colorful freshwater fish native to the Mobile River basin in the southeastern United States. Males exhibit striking iridescent blue bodies, a turquoise dorsal fin, and a vibrant orange-red caudal fin, especially during spawning. They are schooling fish that thrive in clear to moderately turbid streams and rivers.
