Description
The Betta splendens, commonly known as the Siamese Fighting Fish, is famous for its stunning colors and elaborate finnage, with the Veil Tail being a popular variety. These labyrinth fish are native to the shallow waters of Southeast Asia and are capable of breathing atmospheric air. While male Bettas are highly territorial and should be kept singly, they can be housed with certain peaceful, non-fin-nipping tankmates in a sufficiently sized and well-decorated aquarium.
