Description
The Tench (Tinca tinca) is a large, hardy freshwater fish native to Europe and Asia, characterized by its olive-green to golden coloration and small, red eyes. Primarily a bottom-dweller, it thrives in slow-moving or still waters with dense vegetation and muddy substrates. Due to its significant adult size, it is generally more suitable for large ponds than typical home aquariums.
