Description

The Stonecat is a small, nocturnal North American catfish characterized by its flattened head and body, mottled brown coloration, and venomous pectoral and dorsal spines. They inhabit clear, rocky streams and rivers, preferring well-oxygenated water where they feed on benthic invertebrates. While generally peaceful, they can be territorial with conspecifics.
