Description
The Spotted Trunkfish is a distinctive marine fish known for its box-like body covered in a bony carapace and its striking pattern of black spots on a white to yellowish background. While generally peaceful, it can release a potent toxin (ostracitoxin) when stressed or threatened, which can be lethal to other tank inhabitants in a closed system. This species requires a large, well-established aquarium with plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding.
