Description
The Spotted Handfish is a critically endangered marine fish endemic to Tasmania, Australia, known for its unique method of "walking" on the seafloor using its modified pectoral fins. Its body is covered in distinctive brown spots, providing camouflage against the sandy or silty bottom where it ambushes small invertebrates. This highly specialized species requires very specific environmental conditions and is not suitable for typical home aquariums.
