Description
The Protomelas spilonotus is a large and striking Lake Malawi cichlid, with males displaying a vibrant yellow head and dorsal fin contrasting with a blue-grey body. They are active and territorial fish that require a spacious aquarium with plenty of rockwork for hiding and establishing territories. This species is best kept with other robust Lake Malawi cichlids.
