Description
The Smooth Frogfish (*Nudiantennarius subteres*) is a master of camouflage, blending seamlessly with its surroundings on the seafloor. This ambush predator uses a modified dorsal fin spine (illicium and esca) as a fishing lure to attract unsuspecting prey. Its relatively smooth skin helps distinguish it from many other warty frogfish species.
