Description

Homalopteroides smithi is a small, peaceful hillstream loach known for its flattened body and mottled brown coloration, which provides excellent camouflage in its natural habitat. It is adapted to fast-flowing, highly oxygenated freshwater environments, using its modified fins to cling to rocks and other surfaces. This species thrives in aquariums that mimic these conditions with strong current and plenty of smooth rocks.
