Description
The Shortsnout Pipefish (*Syngnathus scovelli*) is a slender, elongated fish native to the Western Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. It is a master of camouflage, blending into seagrass beds and detritus, where it slowly ambushes small invertebrates. Males are responsible for brooding eggs in a specialized pouch.
