Description
Schistura mahnerti is a small, attractive loach species characterized by its distinctive banded pattern, typically with dark vertical bars on a lighter body. Native to fast-flowing streams in Thailand, it thrives in well-oxygenated aquariums with plenty of hiding spots and is best kept in groups. While generally peaceful, it can exhibit territorial behavior towards other bottom-dwelling fish, especially conspecifics.
