Description
This small, bottom-dwelling loach is endemic to the Hiranyakeshi River in the Western Ghats of India. It features a camouflaged body with vertical bands, allowing it to blend into its preferred habitat of clear, oxygen-rich flowing water with sand and gravel substrate. They are generally peaceful but can be territorial with conspecifics if not provided with enough space and hiding spots.
