Description
The Scalpel Sawtail is a large, robust surgeonfish known for its greyish body, often with a bluish tint, and several prominent bony plates (scalpels) on its caudal peduncle. This herbivorous species primarily grazes on benthic algae in its natural Western Pacific habitat. It requires a large aquarium with ample swimming space and rockwork for grazing.
