The Sandbar Shiner (Notropis scepticus) is a slender, silvery freshwater fish native to the Atlantic slope drainages of the southeastern United States. Growing up to 4.5 inches, it is a peaceful, schooling species that thrives in clean, flowing water. This omnivorous fish primarily consumes small invertebrates and plant matter.
