Description
The Ruby Seadragon (Phyllopteryx dewysea) is a striking marine fish, notable for its vibrant ruby-red coloration and lack of the leafy appendages seen in its relatives. Discovered relatively recently, this species inhabits the deeper, cooler waters off Western Australia. It is a highly specialized carnivore, feeding on small crustaceans, and its care requirements are exceptionally demanding, suitable only for expert public aquariums.
