Description
Remoras are fascinating marine fish characterized by a modified dorsal fin that forms a powerful suction disc on their head. They use this disc to attach to larger marine animals such as sharks, rays, sea turtles, and whales, hitching rides and feeding on scraps from their host's meals, parasites, or plankton. They are not parasitic but rather commensal, benefiting from transportation and food without harming their host.
