The Redtail Catfish is a massive, predatory freshwater fish native to the Amazon and Orinoco river basins. It is easily recognized by its dark body, white lateral stripe, and vibrant red-orange caudal fin. Due to its immense adult size, this species is only suitable for very large public aquariums or dedicated expert hobbyists with custom-built ponds.
