Description
The Red Velvetfish (*Gnathanacanthus goetzeei*) is a unique coldwater marine fish native to southern Australia, characterized by its striking red coloration and large, fan-like fins that provide excellent camouflage. This ambush predator inhabits kelp forests and rocky reefs, feeding on crustaceans and small fish. Due to its specialized coldwater requirements and predatory nature, it is an expert-level species rarely kept in home aquariums.
