Description
The Permit is a large, silvery marine fish with a deep, compressed body and distinctive elongated dorsal and anal fins as adults. Juveniles, like the one pictured, often have a more rounded shape and can display a bronze or yellowish hue. Highly prized by anglers, they inhabit shallow coastal waters, often over sandy flats and around mangroves.
