Description
The Pelican Eel is a unique deep-sea fish characterized by its enormous, hinged mouth that can engulf prey much larger than itself. Its body is elongated and eel-like, culminating in a long, whip-like tail that can be up to four times the length of its body. This species inhabits the bathyal and abyssal zones of all temperate and tropical oceans, feeding on various deep-sea organisms.
