Description
The Pacific Barreleye is a deep-sea fish known for its unique transparent fluid-filled head and upward-pointing tubular eyes, which are adapted for detecting the silhouettes of prey above. Its actual eyes are the two green orbs visible inside its head, while the two small indentations above its mouth are its nostrils. This species is not suitable for home aquariums due to its extreme deep-sea habitat requirements.
