The Orange Roughy is a deep-sea fish known for its striking reddish-orange coloration and exceptionally long lifespan, often exceeding 100 years. It inhabits cold, deep waters, typically between 200 and 1800 meters, feeding on small fish, crustaceans, and cephalopods. Due to its extreme habitat requirements, it is not suitable for home aquariums and is rarely, if ever, kept in public aquariums.
