Description
The ’o’opu naniha is a Hawaiian endemic goby, characterized by its elongated body and mottled coloration that provides camouflage in rocky stream beds. This amphidromous species spends its larval stage in the ocean before migrating to freshwater streams as juveniles. They are primarily bottom-dwellers, feeding on algae and small invertebrates.
