Description
The Moonbow Darter is a small, colorful freshwater fish native to the clear, cool streams of the Cumberland River system in the southeastern United States. Males display vibrant patterns, especially during breeding, and are known for their unique behavior of guarding eggs laid on the underside of rocks. They are bottom-dwelling micro-predators requiring well-oxygenated water.
