The Macabi Tetra, also known as Machaca, is a large and powerful predatory characin native to rivers and streams throughout Central America. It possesses a robust, torpedo-shaped body and a formidable mouth, making it an apex predator in its natural habitat. Due to its significant size and aggressive nature, it requires an exceptionally large aquarium and is best kept as a species-only fish.
