Description
The Lookdown is a distinctive saltwater fish known for its extremely compressed, disc-shaped body and high forehead. Juveniles often exhibit long, trailing dorsal and anal fins, which shorten with age. They are typically silvery with a metallic sheen, sometimes showing faint vertical bars or yellowish markings as juveniles, and are active swimmers.
