Description
The Longfin Darter (*Etheostoma longimanum*) is a small, bottom-dwelling freshwater fish native to the Atlantic slope drainages of the central Appalachian Mountains. Known for its elongated pectoral fins and mottled brown coloration, it thrives in clear, cool, oxygen-rich streams with rocky or gravel substrates and primarily feeds on aquatic insect larvae.
