Description

The Longear Sunfish is a vibrantly colored North American freshwater fish, easily recognized by its elongated opercular flap, or 'ear.' Males exhibit stunning red, orange, and blue patterns, particularly during breeding season. They are territorial, especially when spawning, and require a spacious aquarium with plenty of hiding places.
