Description
This unique African freshwater fish is known for its elongated, trunk-like snout, which it uses for navigation, foraging, and communication via weak electric fields. It is a nocturnal and shy species that requires excellent water quality and a well-planted tank with plenty of hiding spots. While generally peaceful with dissimilar tankmates, it can be territorial with conspecifics or similar-looking fish.
