Description

This small, colorful goby is endemic to fast-flowing streams on Okinawa Island, Japan. Males display vibrant blue, red, and pink hues, especially during breeding. They are primarily algivores, grazing on diatoms and algae from rocks in highly oxygenated, clear water.
