Description
The Inkspot Tonguefish (Symphurus nigrocinctus) is a small, cryptic marine flatfish found in the Western Atlantic, including the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea. This bottom-dwelling carnivore buries itself in sand or mud, feeding on small invertebrates. Its unique flattened body and camouflaged coloration make it an interesting, though often hidden, inhabitant of a specialized marine aquarium.
