Description
The Spotted Handfish is a critically endangered marine fish endemic to Tasmania, Australia, known for its unique ability to 'walk' on the seafloor using its modified pectoral fins. This small, camouflaged carnivore inhabits sandy and silty bottoms, ambushing small crustaceans and worms. Its specialized cold-water requirements and extremely limited natural range make it an expert-level species, primarily managed in conservation efforts.
