Description
The Fantail Darter is a small, bottom-dwelling freshwater fish native to Eastern North America, known for its mottled brown coloration and fan-like pectoral fins. Males display a distinctive 'fantail' pattern on their caudal fin, especially during breeding. These darters require cool, clean, and well-oxygenated water with plenty of hiding spots.
