Description
The Crown Darter is a small, bottom-dwelling freshwater fish endemic to the Black Warrior River system in Alabama. It typically displays mottled brown and tan coloration, providing excellent camouflage in its natural habitat of rocky or gravelly stream beds. This species is named for the distinctive crown-like pattern often visible on its head.
