Description

The Convict Cichlid is a hardy and popular Central American cichlid known for its distinctive black and white vertical stripes. They are prolific breeders and exhibit strong parental care, but can become quite aggressive, especially when spawning. Due to their territorial nature, they are best kept in a species-only tank or with very robust, similarly sized tankmates.
