Description

The Common Sawfish is a critically endangered, euryhaline ray characterized by its distinctive, elongated, saw-like rostrum lined with teeth. These large elasmobranchs inhabit tropical and subtropical coastal waters, estuaries, and can even be found in freshwater rivers. They are apex predators, using their saw to detect, stun, and kill prey such as fish and crustaceans.
