Description
The Common Ponyfish is a small, silvery marine and brackish water fish characterized by its highly protrusible mouth and compressed body. It inhabits coastal waters, estuaries, and sometimes freshwater, feeding on benthic invertebrates and detritus. While not a common aquarium species, it is an important food fish in many parts of its Indo-Pacific range.
