The Chanchito Cichlid is a hardy and robust South American cichlid known for its variable coloration, often displaying a mottled pattern of dark blotches. They are adaptable to a wide range of water conditions, including cooler temperatures, making them suitable for unheated or temperate aquariums. While generally peaceful outside of breeding, they can become territorial and aggressive, especially towards smaller tankmates.
