The Cave Cardinalfish, also known as Cook's Cardinalfish, is a small, nocturnal marine fish with a reddish-orange body, a prominent black stripe through the eye, and a distinct black spot on its caudal peduncle. They are mouthbrooders and prefer to hide in caves and crevices during the day, emerging at night to feed on small invertebrates and zooplankton.
