Description
The California Tonguefish is a small, flat-bodied marine fish characterized by its elongated, tongue-like shape and eyes on one side of its head. It is a benthic species, typically found burrowed in sandy or muddy substrates along the eastern Pacific coast, where its mottled brown coloration provides excellent camouflage. This species primarily preys on small invertebrates found within the sediment and is not typically kept in home aquariums due to its specialized needs.
