Description
The California Headlightfish is a small, deep-sea lanternfish found in the mesopelagic and bathypelagic zones of the Eastern Pacific. It is characterized by its prominent bioluminescent organs (photophores) on its head and body, which resemble headlights. This species forms schools and undertakes daily vertical migrations, making it unsuitable for home aquariums.
