Description
Ameca splendens, commonly known as the Butterfly Goodeid, is a livebearing freshwater fish native to Mexico, now extinct in the wild. Males are known for their vibrant coloration and a distinctive split anal fin. They are primarily herbivorous and can exhibit semi-aggressive behavior, especially towards slower or long-finned tankmates.
