Bristlenose Plecos are small, peaceful freshwater catfish known for the fleshy tentacles or 'bristles' on their snouts, especially prominent in males. They are excellent algae eaters and bottom dwellers, making them a popular choice for community aquariums. This historical drawing depicts an Ancistrus species from the Teffe region of Brazil.
