Description
The Common Gudgeon, sometimes referred to as a Black Sea Chub in certain regions, is a small, bottom-dwelling freshwater fish native to Europe and parts of Asia, including rivers flowing into the Black Sea. It has an elongated body, mottled coloration for camouflage, and a pair of barbels at the corners of its mouth. They are peaceful, social fish that prefer cool, clear, well-oxygenated water with a sandy or gravel substrate.
